Cram for iPhone is Free Now (kinda)

Cram iPhone

Your favorite flashcard and multiple choice app (well at least ours) Cram, has been released as a free version on the iPhone upon the request of numerous Cram users and those interested in using Cram. There is a little difference between the full and lite version of Cram, Cram Lite allows you to only have five tests with only five test questions each, but it  still pairs with Cram for Mac.

This version was released to give people an opportunity to try Cram iPhone before purchasing the full version. The full version of Cram is available right now on sale for $4.99. You can download Cram Lite for iPhone here.

Quick-Tip: Shake to Undo on iPhone

Undo Typing iPhone - SimpleLeap

Here's a quick tip for you iPhone users out there that like to save time.

If you ever want to undo an action be it some text or another action performed all you have to do is shake your iPhone and your iPhone will undo the rest (even though all iPhone users are perfect and don't make mistakes, JK).

Try it out by typing something in the email composer and shaking it to undo what you typed. Once you shake the iPhone, you will be prompted on what to undo and once you click on "Undo Text"....voila it should disappear like magic!

Hope this helped.

Quick-Tip: How to Delete Apps on the Mac

Trash can - SimpleLeap.com

This is totally a beginner tip, but I have to say it is one of my favorite things to discuss with Mac newbies as it demonstrates the ease  and power of the Mac.

There are two simple ways to delete an app and one entails using an app (go figure).

Both are very simple and quick...so let's get to it.

To delete an app from your Mac:

  1. Select the app and simply drag and drop to your trash can. (tooo easy...right?)

The other method is using an app that deletes apps. Two apps that I have found to do this is:

The difference between simply dragging the app to the trashcan and using one of these apps is that these apps also delete all of the related files to that app, including the app preferences.

Try using both of these methods and see which one works for you.

If you have already tried both, leave a comment and let us know which one you use?

5 Things You May Not Use on Your iPhone that you Should

We all use our iPhones to help us be a little more productive, to get things done a little bit faster, but your iPhone can't help you do that if you don't know to actually use your iPhone efficiently.

Don't worry, we have provided five little tips to help you use your iPhone to the fullest.

#5 - Force Quit Your Apps

So...your favorite app has simply frozen your phone, what to do? Don't completely turn off your phone, just force quit that app. To do this , simply hold the "Home" button for six seconds and viola (hopefully, lol)!

#4 - Make a Phone Call from Safari

      Make Phone Call with Safari

When you have finally located the phone number you have been searching for within Safari, please don't try to copy it to redial in the phone app or worse, try to remember the number and retype it in the dialer. Simply hold the phone number and let the iPhone dial it for you.

      #3 - Setting Content Restrictions

Setting iPhone Content Restrictions - SimpleLeap.com

Sooo...the kiddies use your phone sometimes or you have a friend that just doesn't appreciate your iPhone as much as you do. Make sure you block some of that content, this includes not allowing them to install iPhone apps. Simply go to "Settings" --> "General" -->  "Restrictions" and select on or off to allow particular functions.

#2 -Find out where those links go

      iPhone Links - SimpleLeap.com

Save yourself the disappointment of going to another website you didn't expect, by viewing the exact link in full that you are going to visit. Simply hold down the link and the iPhone will present full details about the link before you visit. Very helpful to make sure the link in that suspicious email is what it says it is.

#1 - Select other domain endings

      Complete iPhone URL - SimpleLeap.com

If the website doesn't end in ".com" don't type out the website ending, simply hold down the ".com" button and other website endings will appear. So quick, so easy!

That's it for now, even though obviously there are so many other helpful tips that some just don't use on the iPhone.

What is your favorite iPhone secret weapon? Let us know by leaving a comment!

Quick Tip: Top Gripes and Solutions for Early Snow Leopard Adopters

I've been snooping reading around the blogs and the "Twittersphere" and have been reading the many issues early Snow Leopard adopters are having.

Of course, alot of the complaints are the same...so I have listed some resources and tips below that may help resolve some of these temporary Snow Leopard issues and get you going

Gripe #3 : Flash not working

This is a simple fix, update it. It may be hard to believe , but not everyone (including Adobe, well mostly Adobe) was ready for Snow Leopard. The update is semi-painless and quick. Go  ahead, update

Gripe #2 : "I don't notice that much of a difference!? Don't know if it was worth my hard earned Mullah....GRRR"

Though I am getting a bit carried away with the emotions and sound effects, it's one of the biggest Snow Leopard gripes out there right now. The truth is, this was not supposed to be some HUUUUGE OS overhaul, even though in my opinion there are alot of changes and even with the hassle it was worth the $29 upgrade

Besides this you may actually not be using Snow Leopard at it's peak anyway . To run Snow Leopard in 64 bit mode, at boot up press "6" and "4" and watch the magic happen.  Well, not really, only heavy duty Mac users will notice the difference in speed from 32 to 64 bit mode. Just give Snow Leopard a chance, Apple will release some much needed updates soon and when you get them you will be happy. This is just one of the things that come with being so on top of your Mac game

And the biggest GRIPE of them all -

Gripe #1: "I have "X" app and it's not working with Snow Leopard.....AHHHHH!!!"

No need to throw your pretty little Mac across the room, there are a few workarounds for some apps and their compatibility issues.  Also remember, the simple fix is sometimes simply an update, many app developers have pulled all nighters just to get these fixes out for the early adopters and darn it you should use them (whew, lost myself on that one, lol). Anywho,  to check if a particular app should work with Snow Leopard or has some sort of workaround that will stop you from pulling out your last few hairs, check out this GREAT Wiki resource Snow Leopard Compatibility .

Also, you could always contact the developer/company and let them know what's going on. You would be surprised how helpful this could  be
