Top 10 iPhone Questions Answered - Part 1 of 2

Custom iPhone Signature - SimpleLeap.com

You have the iPhone and you love it (or hate, that happens too). You just have a few questions here and there and need answers. Well... I have been lurking through forums and groups and even went through some of my replies to our users emails and have come up with a few of the most common questions regarding the iPhone.

#10 - How do you delete something when there is no delete button?

This is my favorite question for two reasons: because it's asked often and it's super simple.

Simply go the list item you are trying to delete (a list item within an app, your email, etc.) and swipe from left to right. A pulsing, red "Delete" button should appear. Tap and your item is deleted.

#9 - I can't close the original window in Safari, does this mean that it is constantly running?

No. This is how it works and since it's not updating a new page in the background constantly it is not running nor draining your battery.

#8 -  How do I save images from web pages on my iPhone?

When you find an image that you want to save, simply tap and hold the image. A prompt will pop-up asking if you would like to save the image. This MAY not be the same on iPhone 3.0 ;)

#7 - iTunes is erasing my applications when I sync, what can I do?

  1. Make sure you are logged into iTunes on your computer before connecting.

  2. DO NOT "Auto Sync".

  3. Connect and choose "Transfer purchased content" from the file menu.

#6 - Why can't I get my email on my iPhone without opening the actual Mail app?

Because you haven't changed your settings to do so silly! Simply:

  1. Tap on "Settings" from your iPhone home screen

  2. Tap on "Mail, Contacts, Calendar"

  3. Tap "Fetch New Data"

  4. Change from Manually, to your preferred setting.

That's it for now grasshoppers! Until Friday for now.
