How-To: Create Shortcuts on your iPhone & iPod Touch

Do you have any favorite websites that you frequent on your iPhone or iPod Touch? Would you like some way to visit them quickly, with a touch of a button? Then you must know how to create home screen shortcuts on your iPhone. Bookmarking your favorite websites using home screen shortcut buttons can truly save you time. Best of all, it is extremely simple to do. The only thing that will stop you from bookmarking all of your favorite websites is the limit of icons you can have on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Luckily it is a really high limit and not many people will even get close to maxing out.

Let's see how this works...

1. From your iPhone or iPod Touch home screen, tap on the Safari icon to get on the Internet.

2. Once you have accessed the Internet, visit any of your favorite websites and press the "+" on the bottom bar.

3. After you have tapped the "+" button, a menu will pop-up with three options, tap "Add to Home Screen" to create the bookmark.

4. You will be prompted to add a name to the shortcut, this most likely will be prefilled with the website title, but you can rename this to a title that you prefer.

5. Tap on "Add" at the top of the screen.

6. This will instantly create an icon that represents your favorite website on your home screen.

See, as simple as APPLE pie (ok that was bad), but it was.

To access this website later, simply click on the icon as you do with any other application on your iPhone or iPod Touch and you will be directed to your website instantly.

Until later, Chao!
