Well you are totally in luck, because most likely your BlackBerry DOES SUPPORT JAVASCRIPT, you just have to know how to turn it on, sounds too simple right, well it is.
Before I get into the miraculously easy process of turning on JavaScript support on your BlackBerry (and trust me, it is sooo simple), let me remind you why you may want it. It's simply because websites are cooler and even function with it on, no really they actually work on your phone this way. Luckily, this problem should not arise often as many of your favorite websites have developed miniature versions of their own websites to fit comfortably on your little handheld device. This tip is for the sites who have simply not got on the ship yet (including SimpleLeap and don't ask why, lol).
Ok, enough of the blabber and on to the directions...
Temporary Fix (will override existing browser settings)
- From your BlackBerry home screen, open your BlackBerry browser (remember, there are other choices beyond the installed BlackBerry browser for your BlackBerry surfing needs, but this works in your BlackBerry browser).
- Once your BlackBerry browser is open visit a webpage and press the letter "J".
To Always have Javascript enabled (Warning: May slow down your browsing)
- From your BlackBerry home screen, open your BlackBerry browser.
- Press the BlackBerry menu button.
- Click on "Options".
- Select "Browser Configuration".
- Select "Support Javascript".
- Press the BlackBerry back button.
- Save the changes.
That's it, it's that simple. You can now view webpages with Javascript on them, now you know.
Adios!
